Redoing Some Shots with the D800

Ive spent the last couple of days hanging out at Bodie State Park – a Ghost Town out here in California at the invitation of Bill Fortney and His Light Workshops.  Such a great group of people!  For the most part I figured it be a chance to just get out and make some images.. recharge the creative head so to speak.  I had every intention of taking the D3S out and putting it through its paces.

Fortunately / Unfortunately – Bill Pekala from #nikon had a different idea.  He had a couple of #D800 cameras with him for a timelapse, and loaned me one of those to go out and shoot it.  I had every intention of doing side by side comparisons (I did a couple), but to be honest – I’ve spent more time just redoing shots that I had made of this place with my D700.  The quality of the file (detail and range) on the D800 is just sick. I think instead of Ebay’ing the D3S and getting a D4, i’m just gonna keep my fast camera and just add the#D800 to the #photography arsenal when I need the big details.  Im loving the experience with it. More on that soon.

  1. Glad to hear your loving the D800! I’m still waiting for mine to arrive. I’d be interested in hearing more on the D800.
